social media guide

If you are a student-athlete who is looking to get recruited to play in college, there are a few basic things you need to know - this guide will cover them.

Social media is a tool for the coaches and for you. Coaches use social media as that is where you players are. NCAA says on their website: “With today’s generation spending much of their time on social media, coaches have evolved to communicate with recruits on the platforms they are most comfortable and likely to engage. Coaches can now connect, evaluate and gather information about a prospective student-athlete without ever leaving the office.”

college recruiting

If you are a student-athlete who is looking to get recruited to play in college, there are a few basic things you need to know - this guide will cover them.

To play basketball in college is a dream for many. Only approximately 3.4% of all high school players get to play college ball (Div 1- 3) and only 1% get to play on a Div 1 team. At this point, you and thousands of other high school basketball players are competing for the exact same spots. Only 3% of you will get the opportunity to play on a college level. In recruiting even the smallest advantage can be important. Planning & understanding the journey is one of the most important things in college recruiting.

picking a high school

The choice of high school is a huge and important one for any American athlete, this choice could determine the future for the athlete. The goal should be to find a school where the student athlete will be put in the best possible position. The definition of 'the best possible position' can mean different things for different athletes and their families.

This guide will give you an insight in what picking a high school entails as well as guide you with things to think about, questions to ask and important factors to take into consideration.

dual citizen guide

Dual Citizens have doble the opportunity to play on National Teams. Most of the times it will be up to you as the parent to start the communication with your country’s Basketball Federation. You can start by finding the email addresses to people in the Federation and send them an email with information about your child, some highlights, social media accounts and contact information. You can also send them contact information for the child’s AAU or High School coach. This way you give the Federation an option to reach out to them to get a more unbiased opinion about your child

In this free guide you will get all the information you need and also insight from players and parents who have done this.

JUNIOR cALL DAY!

June 15th after sophomore year is a huge day for any basketball player. June 15th, or Junior Call Day, at 12 midnight is the first time that college coaches can reach out to the prospects directly. Before that all communication has to go through a third party (often the high school or AAU coach). Finally, on June 1  it is ok for them to reach out directly to the player and their parents. The anticipation is huge but as you don’t really know who will reach out it can be a little nerve wrecking. Therefore, managing expectations is huge before this date. A great game plan is to before June 15th sit down as a family and talk it through. Talk through expectations, how you plan on managing the day and what your goals are with the day.

Our free guide will give you tips, ideas as well as do’s & don’ts for you to be ready for this big day.
